GET TO KNOW ME

I'm Karen, mum of two children and also my beloved 3 year old dog Ernie.

City & Guilds Qualified since 2009, dog grooming isn't just my career, it is my passion.

I willingly spend many hours each year at my own financial cost, attending grooming shows, webinars, seminars, and training courses.

Some of these courses might have a specific breed focus, such as Cockapoos, others have included Canine dermatology, Rear angulation, Front angulation, scissoring techniques, plus a styling seminar with Colin Taylor, and personal scissoring tuition with multiple "Groomer of the Year" winner Alison Rogers.

None of these are compulsory for my role, however I believe they make me stand out from the crowd in an increasingly busy industry, making me a better, more informed and well rounded groomer, enabling me to give a very high quality professional service.

Over the years, I have competed in National grooming competition Premier Groom, earning a distinction for my hand scissored Cavapoo, and also The Great British Grooming Show.

I have undertaken Canine First Aid courses and am confident in handling all breeds of dog.

The previous owner of Karen's WAGS, Lymm, I returned to grooming in early 2021, after time off to be a mum. No more busy salon for me though, I now work part time from my home in Appleton on a personal ONE TO ONE basis. This allows me to take my time with your dog and offer a calm personalised grooming experience.

I don't use drying cabinets, and always work at a comfortable pace for each dog.

I'm always happy to give advice on your dog's grooming schedule and home maintenance, and will work with you as an owner to give your dog a manageable and attractive style.

Unfortunately, due to the size of my dog bath, I currently only groom small to medium sized breeds (anything upto Springer spaniel / Cockapoo size is fine).
